We’re back! After a few months with a string of Dreamhack events in San Diego, Dallas, and Sweden, we’re regrouping and gearing up for another run of shows.
Shae Williams: I believe the solution (regarding gaming) is for parents to get involved early & treat online gaming as just another space. Parents, get involved (don't be afraid). It's a social activity. Learn to play or at learn to talk with your kid about the game.
The COPE Cabana
The COPE CABANA is a lounge area that serves as the primary location for parents, kids, and industry professionals to congregate, network, and recharge. We want to bring parents in, engage them, educate them and offer them equal value for their experience so they stay longer, engage with vendors more, and come back.

Dreamhack
A special thank you goes out to ESL / FaceIT for their continued support of COPE and the COPE Cabana. Claudia Beaton, VP of People & Culture for ESL, and Guillermo _______ have been instrumental in helping us see our vision through with providing a resourcing and networking hub for parents, kids, and educators.
Claudia Beaton hosted us on stage in Dallas with a Parents Guide to Esports panel session. Joining us on stage was board member Javier Collazo (MonsterDface), Dr. Danny, and Crackly’s dad, Bill Patchett.
At Dreamhack Summer in Sweden, Claudia hosted another group of pro parents for a second Parents Guide to Esports panel. This panel included COPE members Jennifer Vilela (Bully’s mom), Ahmad Elab (Anas’s dad), and Melanie Patchett (Crackly’s mom). Thank you to everyone who was involved, as well as Anas, Crackly, and Bully for letting us hand a mic to your parents.
Glorious
A very big thank you goes out to Aug Driver and Glorious for their donations and support of COPE. Without hesitation, they continuously donate their product to us that allow us to keep COPE an active part of IRL events. We’ve also done some Twitter giveaways with them and have raffled off some prize packages. If you haven’t done so already, please check out their website as they have some top tier products that you or your kids will love to play on.
XP League North American Finals
This year’s XP League NAFs took place at Full Sail University on June 24th and 25th. The event saw over 300 players from across the country and Canada travel to Orlando to compete in various titles, including Fortnite, Rocket League, and Valorant. There’s no better feeling than watching parents have that “a-ha!” moment when they’re watching their kid compete on stage or on the big screen. It’s those moments where parents get it, they understand whey their child is so passionate about esports and where parents are in their comfort zone - cheering for their kids.
One of the highlights for COPE was being able to support and gift the team from Wellington, FL with mice, keyboards, and mousepads from our partner at Glorious. XPL Wellington is led by our very own Jennifer Villa, and it meant a lot for us to be able to support her as she’s been one of our biggest supporters.

Love this! How can I as a parent, connect with you? I'm based in Chicago - we don't always get a lot of attention from the big esports conventions.
